Leaves are falling,
toy's are calling

The parrot rescue crisis in Canada is real. Parrots are long-lived. Cockatiels can reach 20 years, Amazon parrots 50 or more, and macaws can outlive their owners and many people purchase them without understanding the decades-long commitment they're signing up for. The result: shelters and rescues are full of wonderful, healthy birds who lost their homes through no fault of their own. A move, a new baby, an owner's illness, or simply the reality of a loud, demanding, 30-year commitment.

When you buy from a pet store, you create market demand for breeders to produce more birds. When you adopt, you free up a rescue space for the next bird in need. It's that simple and that powerful.
