The Friends of the Aviary (also known as The Hamilton Aviary) is a registered charity run 100% by volunteers in Hamilton, Ontario and beyond. Together, along with the support of our community, we strive to ensure that our Flock of parrots receives the love and care it needs to thrive!

To address the overwhelming
fact that these birds are often rehomed multiple times over their lives, we
have created a network of foster homes to help rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome
surrendered birds in our community.

We also strive to help promote education about responsible parrot guardianship, best practices in parrot care, and support a community that places the well-being of parrots and people at its core.

Interested in supporting our mission to care for and provide safe haven to displaced exotic birds? We rely on donations to feed, shelter, care for, and provide veterinary services for rescue birds. You can make a monetary donation (however big or small), foster
or adopt one of our birds, or become a volunteer!
